Colon hydrotherapy

Colon cleansing

The key to good health is a clean colon, says Dr N.W. Walker. Colon hydrotherapy (CHT) is an effective, gentle and comfortable form of colonic irrigation and is performed by a trained therapist. Water is used to gently wash out the stools collected in the large intestine up to the appendix. Natural gut bacteria from the microbiome are then introduced into the gut. These bacteria can be adapted to the patient’s specific problems.

It is important to also investigate the intestinal flora in order to identify any food intolerances. By doing this, we can all improve our own health by excluding specific foods (wheat, milk, E numbers) or keep an eye on substances such as fungi, heavy metals or bacteria that have built up in the intestinal flora. Individual bioresonance treatment can also be offered for intolerances if needed.

As with any therapy, there are certain contraindications for colon hydrotherapy, i.e. health conditions that mean that colonic irrigation is not a suitable treatment for you. For this reason, a preliminary consultation will be arranged before or during your first appointment.

Ionised oxygen will also be used alongside the treatment since this promotes detoxification and cell regeneration.

Please book at least three appointments within a period of 10 days so that the entire colon can be flushed. Unfortunately, it is not possible to reach the entire colon with water in a single session, particularly for patients suffering from trapped gas.

Gut – Oujas – Tägerwilen

The intestines are the only organ that come into direct contact with our environment. This happens via our food. Given the changes in the environmental influences on our food in recent years, it is no wonder that our immune system, 80% of which is in the gut, is very sensitive to this exposure. Allergies and allergy types are on the increase.

In Greek medicine, Hippocrates (460–377 BC) was already advocating enemas to eliminate disease-causing toxins from the bowels. Thousands of years ago, Ayurvedic medicine was using ‘basti enemas’
and continues to do so to this day.

Reports from ancient Egypt describe the benefits of colonic irrigation on numerous chronic diseases. The use of colon cleansing increased again in the 20th century and was performed in clinics as a ‘subaqual intestinal bath’. In other words, it is not long ago that intensive colon cleansing was being performed in university medical clinics. After the Second World War, the treatment was largely forgotten but, due to the increase in lifestyle diseases, its use and development has been continuing since the 1970s.

How is colon hydrotherapy performed?

The patient lies back comfortably on a couch. A trained therapist is present at all times. During the first session in particular, only warm water is used to flush out the colon. Herbs, coffee or even oxygen may also be used in future treatments. The temperature of the water is precisely regulated. The internal Kneipp water therapy activates the intestinal muscles. The water quantity and pressure are precisely regulated via the CHT device. A manometer is used to monitor this process. The patient is given a gentle abdominal massage during the treatment, which helps to loosen stubborn deposits on the intestinal wall and encourages natural intestinal movement.

Over the past 20 years, this timeless concept has proven itself, with several hundred therapists offering the treatment in the German-speaking world. It is not simply a trend but a development of therapeutic concepts that have previously been used even in university hospitals. The equipment used meets the strictest hygiene standards. CHT is provided in combination with ionised oxygen, which further enhances the detoxification of the intestines and intensifies the cleansing effect.

CHT is often combined with restoration of the intestinal flora. After a stool analysis with a genetic test performed in a specially designed laboratory, we come up with a plan for how we can help to eliminate the original complaint and re-normalise digestion. This frequently includes recommending specifically selected substances from orthomolecular medicine to strengthen your body during this restoration process.

The gut: the front line of our body’s defences

Most people suffer from impaired symbiosis, or dysbiosis, which is a disturbance of the natural relationship between human and bacteria.
Sterilised and denatured foods, poor nutrition and lifestyle, and taking strong medication, as well as toxins and environmental effects, disturb the natural balance between human and bacteria. This weakens the body’s defences, increasing the number and variants of allergies suffered.

Our metabolism depends on many other organs, including the thyroid hormone thyroxine. Both the thyroid and the colon are very closely involved in metabolic activity. The thyroid’s ability to use iodine depends on the cleanliness of the colon. Iodine is by far the most important micronutrient needed by the thyroid and the body as a whole. CHT is ideal in combination with the inverted bioresonance therapy. It accelerates the results of bioresonance therapy since it has a direct effect on the gut. You’ll be amazed at the results!
